Auto Tech Schools Versus Community College Programs

Naturally, when you are researching auto mechanic programs, one of your main concerns is cost. To many people, the tuition charged by auto tech schools seems exorbitant when compared with the less expensive programs offered at community colleges. However, as a school that specializes in one area of instruction, an automotive school offers many benefits over a low budget community college program.

For instance, most auto tech schools offer better equipment than community colleges. The reason for this is that community colleges depend on the government for their funding, and as a result are constantly struggling to pay their teachers, let alone stay up to date on equipment for their students. On the other hand, the tuition you pay at an automotive school ensures that the school can provide and maintain state of the art equipment for its students.

Another advantage of the degree programs offered by auto tech schools is superior teachers. Under funding at community colleges also results in underpaid teachers, which usually means that the best and most knowledgeable teachers wont settle for a job at a community college. Also, since an automotive school specializes in their field, rather than offering classes simply as an alternative for non-traditional or non-academic students, they tend to look for teachers who are better qualified to teach their subject.

The curriculum offered by an automotive school is also generally higher quality than those offered by community colleges. Again, this has to do with the fact that auto tech schools specialize in one field. As a result, a school that focuses on automotive training will be able to offer a choice of several different degree programs, including programs for earning Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications. ASE certifications are an important part of the automotive industry, as they demonstrate to employers and customers alike that a mechanic has mastered his or her areas of certification; as such, any good automotive education program will train and test students in the areas of ASE certification.

Besides factors that are directly related to the quality of a students education, such as high quality equipment, teachers, and educational programs, as private institutions auto tech schools can also offer superior student services, such as job placement services. Job placement services in particular are very important, as the primary reason for pursuing an education is to become more qualified for a specific job or career. Auto tech schools tend to have an office dedicated to helping graduates find jobs, and usually have a good reputation with local employers. Additionally, many auto tech schools have long term relationships with local business, meaning that many of these businesses go directly to the school when they are in need of interns or fulltime mechanics. All of these factors help the graduates of an auto tech school find jobs more easily than those who attended a community college.

Saving yourself money by attending a community college program may seem like a wise decision, but in the long run it may have a detrimental impact on your career path. Factors such as the curriculum, teachers, and equipment dictate how much you learn and how well you learn it, while support services for students, such as job placement assistance, help you translate your education into a career. The extra money it costs to enroll in a degree program at an auto tech school may be the difference between a quality education and mediocre training, a career in the fast track or just a job.

Crohns And Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a trying time for all women. The added stress, the complicated health issues and the additional weight can be overwhelming for many. But when you add in severe health problems like Crohns disease, the stress levels can reach unhealthy levels. So, what effects does Crohns disease have on pregnancy and what does this mean for the health of the baby?

Studies have shown that most women or couples who have an active case of Crohns (they regularly get flare-ups) may have trouble even conceiving. A common drug used to treat Crohns called sulfasalzine may render men temporarily infertile. There are less common medications available for men who are looking to conceive so consult your doctor to get switched to a treatment that wont damage your sperm count.

Most women who have Crohns are able to carry their baby to a full-term pregnancy and have a healthy boy or girl, but there are some direct links between Crohns disease and problems which could potentially crop up. Since Crohns is responsible for causing ulcers and abscesses in the body, women who may have these in the birth canal or in the vagina may need to have a caesarean section birth. Crohns has been linked to a higher rate of miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth at a rate of two to three times. There are also links between a worsening of symptoms directly after becoming pregnant and during the first trimester. Some women also experience a severe flare-up immediately after giving birth. The one thing to keep in mind is that every case of Crohns is different and every pregnancy is different, as well. There is no link at this time that says if you have severe Crohns related symptoms during one pregnancy that youll have them during your next one, too.

One of the most important aspects to having a healthy baby is eating a proper diet. As everyone knows, a womans diet changes dramatically during pregnancy, but diet can be a main trigger to Crohns flair-ups. So how to rectify the two? The best thing to do is to consult your doctors and remember, if you are treating your Crohns with sulfasalazine, take folic acid to help prevent birth defects. Most likely, your doctor and obstetrician will recommend a few special foods and an increased vitamin and mineral supplement plan.

There is a debated genetic link associated with Crohns. Some studies have shown no real link, while others have shown that if someone in your family has Crohns, there is a 10 times greater chance of developing it, and if that person is a brother or a sister, the risk jumps to 30 times. Targeting the actual genes that cause it has been extremely challenging since it appears that more than one gene affects Crohns disease. The main consensus on this controversial area is that there may be some genetic link, but its all about the environmental risk factors associated with it. Dont smoke, try to eat right and keep the stress down and you dont have to worry about passing Crohns disease onto your newborn baby.

How to Choose the Right Gun Safe

When you buy a gun, you need to buy a gun safe as well. Period. And its not just for safety reasons.

Most safes on the market today will do a good job of protecting your guns from curious children. What all of them wont do well is protect your guns from burglars. Many criminals get their hands on weapons by breaking into the homes of known gun owners and stealing them.

When protecting your guns from theft, all safes are not created equal. Heres what to look for when youre buying a gun safe.

Make sure it can be bolted down. The most important thing a burglar needs in order to crack a safe is time. And they wont get that in your house. Thats why most burglars will physically remove the entire, unopened gun safe to a more secure place, where they have unlimited time to get it open. Even very heavy gun safes can be movedmany burglars bring dollies with them just in case. Thats why its crucial to avoid buying a gun safe that cant be bolted to the floorpreferably a cement floor.

Look for an alarm. Some safes come with automatic alarms that go off the moment someone tries to break into your safe. If your gun safe is bolted down and the thieves decide to take a crack at it in your home, the alarm will put a great deal of pressure on them to get done in a hurry. It could put them off stealing it altogether.

Make sure the housing for the lock is protected. Some burglars will try to drill into your lock in order to get it open. Some safe manufacturers create ingenious ways to keep that drill from hitting the interior housing for the lock. One way involves two thick metal plates with a layer of ball bearings between. When a drill hits the ball bearing layer, it cant move forwardtheres no friction. The ball bearings often break off the drill bit as well. Other manufacturers design other ways, such as angled plates to deflect the drill bit away from the lock house.

Look for a relocker. This is a device that will cause the lock to close again if it is broken open. It wont protect the contents of the safe forever, but it is very effective in making the break-in process more complicatedwhich is a definite deterrent for burglars.

Look for as few welded seams as possible. Amateur thieves will try to break through your lock to get to your guns. But the real pros know that your safes weakest points are where the metal has been welded together. To stop burglars from attacking your seams first, look for a safe that has as few exposed seams as possible.

Thicker is betterand not just on the door. Look for a safe with a good metal thicknessno thinner than 10-guageall around. Many safe manufacturers will produce safes with thick doors but thin bodies. A safe cracker with any skill will know which safes are vulnerable in the bodyand will bypass the door to go in through the side or roof of the safe. Make sure your sides, top and bottom are just as thick and strong as your safes door.

Hinges should be on the inside. Exposed hinges are another point of attack for anyone trying to break into your safe. If your hinges can be damaged or removed, the door can be broken into. Many safe manufacturers will advertise super-strong hinges, but no matter how strong a set of hinges are, theyre better off if the thieves cant get to them.

Look for a warranty. Only buy from a safe manufacturer that has confidence in its product. The best warranties will replace or repair your safe for free if it is damaged by a break-in attemptalthough many will ask that you ship it back with a police report.

The bottom line is that you cant have too much safe. Buy a safe that will accommodate your gun collection as it grows. Most importantly, dont think cheap when it comes to the safe thats supposed to protect your valuablesbecause youll get what you pay for. You cant expect a 50.00 safe to do a good job protecting 10,000 worth of firearmsbuy a safe that does justice to your collection. If you do, your guns should stay safe and secure.

Cadillac Convertible Eldorado - From The Early Fifties And Up Till Today

Eldorado was a personal luxury model from Cadillac. This model also was the one that had the longest run in the American market. The Eldorado model was the only one sold after the 1998 model year. It was part of the Cadillac line of models from 1953 to 2002 and its main competitors was Buick Riviera and the Mark Series. The name 'Eldorado' is Spanish and translates to 'the gilded one'. The South American Indian tribe chief also had this name It has been said that this chief would wash off the gold dust that was sprinkled in his body by diving into a lake during a ceremony. Another origin of this name are the cities of fabulous riches in South America which inspired European expeditions.

A Brief History

The name 'Eldorado' was proposed for a very special show car built in 1952 for marking Cadillac's Golden Anniversary. Actually, it was the result of an in-house competition that was won by Mary-Ann Zukosky (married name = Marini). Mary-Ann was a secretary in the company's merchandising department. It is also worth mentioning that Palm Springs Life magazine, attributes the name to a resort destination in California's Coachella Valley that was a favorite of General Motors executives, the Eldorado Country Club. Anyway, the name was adopted by the company for a new, limited-edition convertible that was added to the line in 1953.

The Cad models named Eldorado were always near the top of the manufacturers product line although cars bearing the name varied considerably in bodystyle and mechanical layout during this long period. Nevertheless, with exceptions for the Eldorado Brougham models of 1957-1960, the most expensive models were always the opulent, long wheel-based "Series 75" sedans and limousines.

The Development in the 1990s

1992

In 1992, a new Eldorado appeared. It was slightly bigger than its predecessor, but it was so much more adroitly styled that it seemed greatly so. The window glasses were once again frameless, and shortly after introduction Cadillac's excellent new Northstar V8 became available. This combination of sleek styling and increased power seemed more like the great Eldorados and this got good reviews for this model. The sales went up, though never again at record heights. People who purchased this preferred the four door model Cadillac Seville, a trend that was clearly indicated by the sale figures. This automobile continued for the rest of the decade with incremental changes and moderate sales., Its former running mates Toronado and Riviera were discontinued at this time and by the end of the century it was becoming clear that the end of the Eldorado was probably coming as well.

1998

Some minor exterior updates were done for the Eldorado in 1998 as well as a revised interior.

The Swan Song

Cadillac announced that they would end production after the year 2002. Well, this was not just said but done as well: The final ETC model became the most powerful model with an 300 hp engine with front wheel drive. Well, that's not hundred percent true though, because a few cars were produced to mark the end of this proud model in April 2003, cars that were produced in the 1953 convertible colors of red and white. An honorful end of a wonderful car.

Retro Home and Bedroom Furnishings: A Look at the 70's and 80's

Every twenty to thirty years, it seems that fashion tends to come full circle, with trends simply being recycled and updated. It could just be the vicious circle of history repeating itself, but it seems that even home design is doing the same thing. If you take a gander at the home furnishing offerings today, you'll find that many of the decorations and designs are "retro"', imitating the wave of the late 1970's through the 1980's. In case you weren't around for the original styles, or have chosen to block out most of than span of time from your memory, let's take a trip back and look at the blast from the past that is piled on store shelves today.

Tie-Dyed Clothes. Remember when bright, tie-dyed colors were all the rave? In the early eighties, everything was a starburst of six and seven different colors that didn't really match and could make your eyes water with the brightness of the design. Home furnishings have begun to incorporate this design again, with wall hangings of tie-dyed starbursts, throw rugs in the pattern, bedspreads full of tie-dyed spots, and even some couches artfully designed in such a manner. If you like the bright, anything goes style, this may be for you!

Psychedelic. Okay, so in the sixties and seventies, there were reasons for glow in the dark, psychedelic paint and black lights, though these excuses were usually less than savory and not entirely legal. Today, though, the bright T-shirts and posters have returned, with many individuals covering walls with glow in the dark designs and even painting whole walls in psychedelic paint, installing black lights in their recreation rooms or game rooms for entertainment purposes. This retro design option, coupled with disco lights that are more reminiscent of the late seventies, can really take you back to "the day"', especially if you put in the right music!

Lava Lamps, Most lamps are made to assist with lighting a room and giving you something to read by. On the other hand, in retro times, the lava lamp was more about putting on a show when it was dark in the room. Lava lamps have begun to grace the shelves of not only specialty and gag gift stores but also typical home decor departments in other stores, including superstores and department stores. Add to this the fact that the "lightning ball"' has also made a comeback from its loss of popularity in the mid-80s, and you've just jumped back in time.

Shag Carpets and Bean Bags. Rather than sitting on real furniture, designers are now suggesting a return to the basics. In the seventies, everyone had thick, shag carpeting, and now it's become popular again (as opposed to Berber, the thinnest possible carpet around), only this time it's not in mixed blue and green colors (thank goodness!). And, with the modification of the original bean bag chair that was so popular in the 80s to seat more than one comfortably on plush material or even leather rather than sticky vinyl, you can have your whole home outfitted retro style!

Getting The Best Out Of Your Wooden Floors

Wooden floors look great in any room in the house, but to keep them looking good for many years, its important to know how to look after them properly.

Try to put very hardwood floors where children and pets are likely to be, as these are extremely durable and will be able to withstand wear and tear better

Remove spills promptly using a soft cloth and recommended cleaning products

Keep pets nails trimmed, and paws clean and free of dirt, gravel, grease, oil, and stains

Sweep or vacuum regularly, since built-up grit can damage the surface of the wood. The vacuum head must be a brush or felt type and make sure that the wheels of the vacuum are clean and do not damage the finish

Furniture can dent and mark wooden floors, so place protective pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches

Remove shoes with spiked or damaged heels before walking on the wood floor

Exposure to the sun and its UV rays accelerates the oxidation and aging of wood and fabrics. This causes the wood to change colour. Therefore, it's a good idea to rearrange rugs and furniture periodically so that the floor ages evenly

Use rugs in high traffic areas and pivot points, for example, stair landings and room entries, especially if you have a large family or indoor pets

Make sure furniture casters are clean and operate properly

Don't be afraid to sand your floor if it's damaged or badly worn. A good quality wooden floor will take sanding several times during its life.

The amount of wear and tear that your wooden floors get obviously depends on the size and lifestyle of your family, but by taking a few precautions and regularly cleaning the floors, you will keep your floors looking as beautiful as when they were first installed.

Michigan Football Tickets - Do They Hold The Same Value As 10 Years Ago?

Over time, Michigan football tickets have become special for many reasons. The Wolverines not only have the most wins for a college football program in the United States, but as of this writing they also have the highest winning percentage of any major college team. For over 100 years, the Wolverines have been winning in a big way, counting over 850 victories to their credit during that time.

However, the Wolverines have struggled a bit in recent years as teams in the Big Ten have begun to compete with them on a regular basis. There does need to be a disclaimer in place, however, in that an off year for the Wolverines would be an outstanding season for most other programs. Regardless, Michigan fans have come to expect a certain level of dominance over time, and a look at the past few seasons may show why the perception is that the team isnt the premier program it once was.

The Start of the Perceived Decline

The Wolverines won their first Modern Era national championship in 1997 after finishing an undefeated season. It was the pinnacle for a program that had won six Big Ten titles in the previous 10 seasons, and the Wolverines were heroes to students, fans and alumni all over the world. Players such as Brian Griese and Charles Woodson were the stars of that team, and the program appeared to be as strong as ever.

The team had another strong year in 1998 when they won another Big Ten title, but did not go to the Rose Bowl that year due to a tiebreaker rule. They followed that season with another strong 10-2 record in 1999 but failed to win the Big Ten, finishing behind Wisconsin, who went to the Rose Bowl and represented the Big Ten with a victory.

It was the dawn of the 21st Century that led to fans and alumni grumbling that the program was starting to decline. You wouldnt have known it based on sales of Michigan football tickets, as the Big House was and is still packed for every game with over 100,000 fans. However, the Wolverines lost three games in 2000 and did not advance to the Rose Bowl.

2001 led to more grumbling, as the team lost four games, including losses to hated rivals Michigan State and Ohio State. They also lost to Tennessee in the Florida Citrus Bowl. The Wolverines lost three games in each of the next three seasons, and an even more troubling trend began to emerge - the Wolverines had lost their recent dominance over the Buckeyes. This, perhaps more than any other factor, has led to dissatisfaction among Wolverine fans.

The bottom appeared to fall out in 2005, when the team posted a 7-5 record and lost to Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio State and Nebraska. 7-5 may be a good record for most programs, but its unacceptable in Ann Arbor, and Coach Lloyd Carr is feeling the heat these days.

The Decline in Reality

A look at the numbers shows a slight, but not rapid, decline in Michigans winning percentage. Since they began to play football in 1883, the Wolverines won 75% of their games. Since 2001, Michigan is 44-18, which still results in a 70% winning percentage. So then, why do fans perceive the Wolverines to be in decline? Probably two reasons more than any others - they have not been beating Ohio State with regularity, losing three of the last four games against the Buckeyes. They have also lost 11 games in the past three years, which is more than fans are accustomed to.

What does all of this mean? First, the program is not in decline. They had a tough year in 2005, but that will most likely look like an aberration 10 years from now. Secondly, Michigan football tickets are as special as they ever have been.

The Eye of the Storm

I've been publishing a newsletter for over 6 years and I've been actively marketing and running an online business for almost 8... needless to say, I've seen a lot of trends come and go and definitely know all about lulls and surges.

I know all of us would like more surges and if you're like me, you tend to get a little discouraged at first when you start to feel the effects of the lulls. This is normal and although they say you get used to it as time goes on, I have to say I still get discouraged every year around this time, but I've since learned how to deal with it a little more positively.

Since my slow season hits with a bang, I would quickly forget how much I complained about having no time and being extremely stressed during the surge. So now I try to think of it as the "The Eye of the Storm"... calm, quiet, but with the promise of a surge to come.

Yes, it's true... there are those big gurus who claim to still surge no matter what time of year it is -- and I don't doubt them -- but for people like you and me, it just doesn't happen no matter how hard you try or how hard you work. I'll admit that my lull isn't as slow as it used to be since my name has gotten out there a bit, but it's STILL slower than any other time of year.

When I first started experiencing this, I was mad with ambition to get my business and traffic back to par. I wasn't going to stand for the lull theory... no way! I spent literally thousands on marketing, TONS of time spitting out new products and services, and basically worked myself to death...

Did I get more business? Did I get more traffic? Well, yes but not NEAR worth what I spent to get it! I ended up losing a lot of money that year -- something I could have avoided if I would just accept it and leave it be.

It definitely taught me a lesson. For the last few years, I've just accepted it and I cease the flow of any marketing dollars or time spent on launching new products or services. What do I do with my time? I work on improving any existing products and services and I clean up. I've found that it's the best time to get things ready for the surge and the best time to take a little time off and enjoy what my success has afforded me. I do what all my potential but non-buying customers are doing... I spend time with my family and spend my money on Christmas gifts and donations.

If you can't deal with that or you absolutely have to keep making that surge money to make ends meet, find a niche product or service that will do well around this time of year -- like a cookbook, gift site, or similiar service.

I have some big gurus as subscribers and if you're one of those that never has a slow season then I'll be honest, I'm jealous! But for the majority of us, it's inevitable and something we will probably never overcome.

So swallow the jagged pill and don't try to beat it. Remember that it is NOT the end of the world or your business -- just the "The Eye of the Storm". ENJOY it and use it as a time for rest, relaxation, and getting your mind, body, and business ready for the upcoming chaos.

Is Outsourcing Right for your Business?

Businesses across the U.S. are struggling to deal with globalization, staffing issues, managing workflow and freeing up resources to focus on strategic growth initiatives. Financial professionals, accounting firms in particular, are looking for strategies to ease seasonal staffing and time management problems as well as ways to add more value to their clients. Outsourcing is addressing these key challenges.

Many businesses still are very hesitant to embrace outsourcing as a means to growing their practice and increasing productivity. To help you decide whether outsourcing is right for your business consider the following common questions:

Q: How can I be sure private client data will be secure?

A: Superior security measures and processes; make sure you have a signed service agreement (including confidentiality guarantees). Some important security features to look for when choosing a vendor are if they support a paperless monitored work environment. Consider network security such as if their site is encrypted and uses a firewall. Also, verify how they hire their employees. Do they adhere to stringent background checks and do they require a particular level of education or training?

Q: Is it against the law or code of ethics to utilize outsourcing?

A: No, as long as disclosures are made to the client. There is typically a provision in most privacy statements that disclose that the firm may be a need to disclose client information to third parties who provide help in servicing their accounts. Most firms reference outsourcing directly or indirectly in their privacy statement in order to comply with the Graham Leach Bliley Act. In either case, as long as the taxpayer is assured that his/her return will be reviewed by the firm's tax department prior to filing, they generally respond favorably to outsourcing.

Q: How can I be assured that the work being done meets the high quality standards that I guarantee my own clients?

A: Again, investigate whether the vendor employs a skilled staff. Verify that the vendor performs quality checks and audits by seasoned U.S. staff and conducts rigorous and continual ongoing training of the tax and accounting team.

Q. How can I ensure outsourcing will be successful for me?

A. Communication with vendor. In the end, it is up to both the vendor as well as the client to make sure the lines of communication are open. The more the vendor understands the needs and workflow of the client and the more the client understands the outsourcing process, the better the relationship will be for both parties.

Does Your Website Work?

When was the last time you tried out all the parts of your website? Have gone clicking around your site to see what your customers are seeing? If you have answered yes then good for you but even if you have, have you looked on your own computer?

A friend of mine is a web designer and if you go into her home office your jaw would drop youd think you just stepped into a spaceship. She has several screen and several computers running at once. I asked her what all the computers were for. As a high end website designer, she wants to make sure that her customers websites look good for everyone viewing the site, whether they are viewing it on a small screen or a large screen. Shell create a website then view it from different monitors to see how it looks then shell make adjustments accordingly.

Now, Im not suggesting that you rush out and buy yourself several monitors to do that job, but there are things you can do.

First, make sure that all of your links are live. Make it a goal of yours to click through your site once a week to make sure the links are live. Of course, if you never change your site and all of the links are internal, then you dont need to do it that often. However, if you change your site periodically and you link to other sites, your links could drop so easily! Check to make sure theyre still working.

Second, have friends or family browse your site periodically. I have one friend who emails me every time he changes his site and asks me to check it out. (Please dont email your sites for the same reason my time is limited! Instead, get some trusted friends or family to view your sites). Have them give you honest feedback. If youre concerned that they will be too nice, put together a checklist where they have to rank various aspects of your site on a scale of 1 to 5.

Third, watch your metrics very closely. If you have 5 steps between your first page and the final purchase confirmation button, what do you notice about the people visiting each page? You can expect most of your visitors to see the first page then a proportionately fewer number visit the next page then a proportionately fewer number visit the third page etc. I cant give you an exact number, of course, but you should see similar numbers each month and they should be proportionate. If you lose 25% of your viewers from the first page to the second, and 25% of those from the second to the third, and 25% of those from the third to the fourth, and 50% of those from the fourth to the fifth, theres a good chance that something on the fifth page is driving them away. Identify what it is and fix it.

Fourth, consider a quick customer service survey. You might want to email customers a survey after they have purchased something or perhaps you can build into your site a quick customer service survey just before the purchase confirmation page. If you have to, consider offering a coupon to customers for the completion of the survey.

Your website may load well and look good on your computer, but the reason could be that your site was designed FOR your computer. If you check it out on other computers and go through the 4 steps above, youll improve the chances that your website will work for other people no matter how theyre viewing it.

Responsible Refinancing: Tips To Avoid Predatory Lending

Homeowners interested in refinancing are probably aware of the dangers of predatory lending. But how do you recognize a predatory lender when you see one? How do you avoid the very real consequences of making a bad refinancing decision?

Predatory lending really means that a lender influences you to refinance your home in such a way that is not in your best financial interest. Homeowners often become blinded by perceived short-term benefits, losing sight of important long-term goals.

The number one mistake to avoid when refinancing your home is canceling too much equity. Youve worked hard to build equity in your home, and cash-out refinancing options can sometimes cancel every bit of it, making your home virtually worthless to you until you can build up equity again.

However, equity is what allows you to borrow against your home, so canceling some of your equity by refinancing is not always a bad decision. If you are refinancing to consolidate other debt, for instance, this could be a decision that will strengthen your financial situation for the future.

Cash-out refinancing allows you to take cash out of the loan at closing, and while this can be seen as an investment if the cash to be used for home improvement, it is absolutely detrimental if the homeowner spends the cash on something like a new car or boat. The homeowner has then wiped out equity in a home that will only increase in value, and traded it for something that begins depreciating immediately.

Predatory lenders take advantage of homeowners who have difficulty focusing on their long-term financial goals. If you are considering a cash-out refinancing option, ask yourself if your plans for that cash are going to help you reach your long term goals or not.

Refinancing a fixed rate mortgage (FRM) to an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) to take advantage of current low interest rates is another decision homeowners are likely to later regret. That low rate may look attractive now, but an adjustable rate mortgage is just that: adjustable. Interest rates could rise higher in the future than the rate on your current FRM. Lower monthly payments may seem like a great way to save money, but in the long-term you could end up paying thousands more on your new loan than you would have paid if youd stayed in the old one.

However, refinancing from an ARM to an FRM is usually a wise decision, even if the fixed rate is slightly higher than the current rate on the ARM. The idea behind refinancing to an FRM is that you lock yourself into an interest rate that you are comfortable with paying.

Refinancing to the same type of loan as the current mortgage for a lower interest rate is also a decision homeowners probably wont regret. Just be sure you intend to stay in your home long enough for the savings in interest to cover the cost of refinancing.

One other important safeguard against predatory lending is the Federal Truth in Lending Act, which guarantees borrowers who refinance on their primary residence a three day grace period to back out after closing, so long as they are refinancing with a different lender than the one who holds the current mortgage. This is called the right of rescission, and very few borrowers take advantage of it, but knowing you have the right to back out of a bad deal makes refinancing your home a little less stressful.

Key Accessories Can Increase The Nintendo WII Price

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest gaming system on the market. Even now many retailers are sold out and awaiting new shipments of this revolutionary game system with its remote sensing control system. The Nintendo Wii is a hot commodity, and like any commodity the laws of supply and demand are in play, and high demand can often equate to high prices. If you are one of the millions of people considering a purchase of the Wii System then you are probably among those for whom the Nintendo Wii price is a consideration.

Fortunately, the Nintendo Wii price is at a point that is affordable for most people, and for approximately $249.99 USD you can jump right in almost literally and begin playing the game that everyone is talking about. However, the $250 dollar price point only gets you the basic Wii package, which includes one game Wii Sports one controller, the sensor bar, and the assorted power cords needed to plug in and play. While this assortment is more than capable of getting you up and running, the $250 Nintendo Wii price does not include many items you are sure to want as soon as you tire of playing Wii Sports against the computer.

One way to avoid endless shopping for additional games and accessories is to purchase a Nintendo Wii bundle from a retailer who offers such deals. Various retailers offer bundles all inclusive package deals that include the Wii system as well as additional memory, additional controller, and several additional game titles. While such packages can greatly increase the Nintendo Wii price by $200 to $400 dollars depending on the number of games and their titles it can give you all you need, and more, to get started gaming.

The Nintendo Wii price, without accessories, is roughly $250. But it is the accessories that make the Wii such a powerful and dynamic system, and the Nintendo Wii price does not include those additional items. While new game titles will cost roughly $50 each, it is not the new games that will take your Wii to new heights; it is the add-ons. A second controller and Nunchuk - secondary controller that plugs into the primary, wireless controller; the Wiimote will cost approximately $60. For those who wish to offset the Nintendo Wii price by continuing to play games from their Nintendo GameCube, they may need to purchase a GameCube controller if they do not already have one ($25). Further, if you want to save your ongoing GameCube games like you could do on the original GameCube then a memory card is needed ($25). For roughly the same prices as the memory card, an SD card 1 GB of additional memory can be purchased allowing you to download classic games through an Internet connection.

Like other accessories, Internet connectivity is not included in the Nintendo Wii price, and a wireless Wi-Fi USB connector is required ($100 and up). And if you want to see the fruit of your investments in the quality of High Definition, then a component video adapter is needed to deliver that crystal clear picture ($20).

After reading a list such as this one it is easy to wonder what you really get for that $250 Nintendo Wii price. The truth is that you get a lot, but if you want more and you want to maximize the capabilities of the system then investing in accessories that cost above and beyond the Nintendo Wii price will deliver exactly that. Fortunately, you dont have to buy them all at once.

How To Do Data Recovery, Data Security, Data Backup The Right Way

One of the most frightening things that can happen to a person is to lose the data off of their hard drive. Many of us store personal and business information on our computers. The thought of losing data due to a crashed or failed hard drive or perhaps a breach of data security sends chills down the spine of every grown man and woman. Once you except that you did not back up your data you need begin the data recovery process.

What exactly are your data recovery options once your hard drive crashes? First of all, stop using the computer immediately. It is not suggested that you run any data recovery software that came with your computer as this software can overwrite the original files. The next step is to allow a hard disk recovery company to restore your pertinent files. Contact a reputable company immediately. There are a few companies who come right to your home, but at-home data recovery computer services charge more. Certain computer files, such as DWG files (a complex graphics file format), require a specialist in order to be recovered. If there is damage to the hard drive you may not be able to recover your files. A hard drive crashing is an instance where data recovery is possible. If your data security is breached you may never recover what is stolen.

The best way to avoid compromised data security is to put safeguards in place. A few data security measures are encryption, antivirus and firewall protection. Data security such as encryption translates data into a secret code. To read an encrypted file you must have access to the key or password that enables you to decrypt it. There are many software programs and services that provide data encryption services depending on your data security needs. Additional data security measures such as antivirus and firewall protection provide further data protection. Some software programs have the ability to provide both antivirus and firewall protection for overall data security.

One way to avoid the mess of data recovery is to perform regular backups. Basic computer maintenance includes full and incremental backups. It is recommended that you perform a full backup once a week. An incremental backup is a backup that backs up only the files modified since the last backup and depending on your needs you can schedule this to run every day. Its also beneficial if you have a copy of your data offsite. When you need to access this data you can either open the offsite data program and run it, or log on via the web to access your data. You will want to check with your service provider how to perform data recovery if needed.

Data recovery either from a crashed hard drive or lost through compromised data security can be a frustrating and devastating experience. The best situation is to avoid the loss of data all together. With regular computer backups and data security measures in place your computer data will remain where it needs to be, on your hard drive and easily accessible.

Some people balk at the cost of protecting their data, as well as the time involved in doing secure backups. But what they fail to consider is the cost of their lost personal and productivity time that is spent trying to recover data that could be recovered in literally MINUTES if they had properly safe-guarded the data in the first place! If your computer data files are the lifeblood of your business and/or personal life, the time and money involved in protecting that data adequately and properly cannot be determined by a dollar value.

Jon Arnold is a computer engineer who maintains many websites to pass along his knowledge and findings. You can read more about data recovery, data backup and data security at his web site at http://www.all-about-data.com/.Gabie Blog13915

Protecting Children from Risks of the CyberSpace- A Case For Internet Filters

With the rapid proliferation of homes installing broad band internet connections, more school children are getting into cyberspace to play games like Maple story etc. You may think that internet games are harmless. You could be wrong :

(a) A child who spends many hours in playing cyber games will be deprived of the chance to interact with other children to develop his/her social skills.

(b)Cyber games tend to be action oriented with near instantaneous gratification. Prolonged exposure to such situations will lead to diminished interest in reading, playing musical instruments, playing chess and other intellectually stimulating activities. This will invariably affect the child's mental development and possbly progress in school.

(c) A child may stumble on some text or images of websites that may not be suitable for children. Exposure to sexual images and messages at a young age will certainly do more harm than good.

(d) A child may also stumbleupon a variety of websites that offer the opportunity to make friends. Through chat sites and messengers , it is possible for some unscupulous paedophiles who masquerade as youngsters to befriend your child to extract private information. They could use such information to threaten or abuse the child.

So there is a need for some kind of control and protection by installing some filtering software. There are some people who think that internet filters are for overbearing parents, but that is really not true. Internet filters are used by a wide cross section of the society that has people with differing views, attitudes and moral standpoints. Internet filters are cumstomizable. The degree of restriction that they bring to your computer and your child's use of the Internet can be completely tailored to suit your needs.

An illustration of the degree of customisation is that you can set your filter so that your child can only use the net for a small period of time a day, and only has access to a few websites that you have specially selected. On the other hand, you can give your child much longer access to the Internet each day, and let them have access to all sites except for a couple of specific websites that you have deemed inappropriate.

Internet filters are, thus, indeed useful in significantly reducing the risks of your children being exposed to undesired elements in the cyberspace. It pays to adhere to the old adage:"Prevention is better than cure."

PC Hardware: How Ego Can Cost Your Clients

You'll find that clients are sometimes just like children. They want to biggest, shiniest toy even though it may not be good for them. Your job as the virtual CIO is to make sure that they spend their money wisely and well.

What Does Your Client Really Need?

Look carefully at clients' software application requirements before you allow their emotional needs to drive tech PC hardware purchases. If a client's CFO spends most of a typical day crunching numbers in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and communicating via e-mail in Microsoft Outlook, he or she really has only very basic PC hardware requirements. Thus, there might be a better way to ring greater bottom-line results.

Additionally, these consulting projects will be infinitely more profitable to your consulting firm than the slim profit margin on a high-end, commodity-like desktop PC hardware purchase.

What about Notebook PCs?

Although your clients can get some really useful multimedia features in high-end notebooks in the $4,000 to $5,000 price range, if the CEO of one of your main clients merely wants to access e-mail remotely, you easily could equip him or her with a reliable, high-performance, brand-name notebook for one-third to one-half of that price.

Use Your Knowledge To Help Your Clients

As your clients' virtual CIO and technology visionary, you have a huge responsibility. Don't allow clients' objective judgments and technology budgets to get seduced by superfluous bells and whistles.

When in doubt, ask yourself this basic question:

If my client took the $5,000 that was about to be spent on the Rolls Royce of notebooks and reallocated the amount toward computer consulting services, what kind of an impact on their business could my firm make with a $5,000 budget for a consulting project?

Different Kinds Of Blinds And Shades

Blinds and shades are window coverings common for similar purposes such as giving privacy to the people inside a particular establishment or protecting the interior part from direct sunlight.

- Slat blinds made of vinyl or metal is consisting of many flat horizontal slats connected to a string which have a 170 degrees rotation adjustments for hiding the light or it can be pulled up to clear the window. The blind rotation is dependent on the connector being attached to a pulling cord or string, so the lowering and raising are done by pulling different strings.

- Venetian blinds are slatted blind having either a plastic or metal composition. There are also available slats made of wood pertaining to wood or bamboo blinds. The slat width ranges from 50 to 120mm but the most common width is 50mm.

- Mini-blinds are Venetian blinds having narrower width slats ranging from 19 to 24mm.

- Vertical blinds have slats made of plastic, metal or stiffened fabric hanging from a track on its one end. The horizontal slats has a 90 degrees rotation for allowing light to pass or can be fold up to either side of the window or doors. They also called as track blinds.

- Solid blinds can be fold up or roll up but it cannot be entirely opened so that light can pass through. These types of blinds are populary called window shades. These blinds include:

Holland blinds also known as roller shades can be pulled down to roll the window blinds.

Wood blinds that are woven have slats made of decorative bamboo, wood or other woven natural material with a colored yarn, simple string or other materials having decorations almost similar to a solid blind. This blinds are roll up or fold up for light adjustments. Woven wood blinds are affordable shutters alternatives, energy efficient and has a greater control over lights.

Pleated shades are made of fabric with pleated shades being pulled up so that it could flatly sit on the window's top corner.

Honeycomb shades resembles a pleated shades, the only difference are the other layers being sewed on the pleats forming a compartment trapping the air for insulation purposes. If you want higher insulation and energy efficiency, look for more cells counts.

The Basics Of Student Loan Debt Consolidation

You can combine several of your student or parent loans into a single student loan debt consolidation. You can consolidate your federal student loans too, but make sure that you do not consolidate both your federal student loans and private student loans into a single student loan debt consolidation program. Just as other debt consolidation loans, you must make your student loan debt consolidation payments to a single lender, who further disburses to your old creditors.

To go for debt consolidation of your student loans, your minimum balance should be $5,000, and you must either be in the six month grace period after your studies, or are already repaying your student loan.

Before selecting your student loan debt consolidation option, review all the advantages and the disadvantages:

Through debt consolidation you make your student loan payments to a single lender.

Depending on the balance of your loan amount, your consolidated student loan has an extended repayment term from 10 to 30 years.

When negotiating with your bank or financial institutions, ensure that your phased repayment plan allows you to easily meet your monthly payments and have a good credit rating, at the same time.

The rate of interest for student loan debt consolidation is capped at 8.25 percent for federal student loans.

Once the rate is fixed you cannot take advantage if the interest rates fall in future.

There are no fees charged for student loan debt consolidation.

Once approved, you cannot undo your debt consolidation of your student loans as they have already repaid in full to your previous creditors, and they no longer exist.

You can still obtain debt consolidation for your over due, or unfulfilled, student loans if you negotiate a satisfactory repayment plan with your bank, or debt consolidation lender. Married couples, too, can consolidate their individual student loans together. This is regardless of how much each owns before consolidation, and must now agree to pay the consolidated amount.

HD Home Distribution Just Picture It!

High Definition television is new to the UK and is certainly going down a storm. With the likes of Sky and NTL:Telewest providing more and more HD programming on a weekly basis, including a full gamut of sporting events, its no wonder that there is an increase in the amount of interest in home distribution of HD pictures.

Although not a mass market quite yet, HD will certainly become the standard by which we as consumers, and Sky and NTL: Telewest as broadcasters, will aspire too. Sales of HD Ready Flat Panel TVs (both LCD and Plasma) have taken the electronics market by storm, having almost single handedly turning round the retail sales slump in the UK.

Its a fact that more and more of us possess more than one HD TV in our homes.

The TV and connectivity

Weve all seen the HD Ready badge on the TVs in the shops but what does this mean in real terms. Well the vertical resolution (number of horizontal lines on the screen) is essentially 720p (progressive), 1080i (interlaced), or higher. So whats progressive and interlaced? In laymens terms, HD can be transmitted in either progressive, which is where line 1 is followed by line 2, line 3, or it can be interlaced, where the odd lines 1, 3, 5 are followed by the even lines 2, 4, 6, which is indistinguishable to the naked eye. The upshot of this is that a less bandwidth is required for interlaced (i.e. only 540 lines (half 1080)).

You will also need to sport an HD analogue connection (YpbPr (component input) through industry standard connections; (e.g. Phono) and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) or DVI (Digital Visual Interface) digital input connector. Either digital connection must be capable of supporting HDCP (High bandwidth Digital Content Protection), which is the chosen method of rights management for HDTV. DVI (which does not carry audio) will also require connections for either RCA/Phono stereo or, as is becoming more prevalent, Dolby 5.1 surround.

The Distribution

Distribution of HD video around the home can be done in both analogue and digital formats, although analogue is the most prevalent at the moment. The use of CAT5 (5e or 6) is the best method of getting your signals around the home. This ensures that the core infrastructure of the home is set for the future should your equipment be upgraded.

Cat5 can be used in one of two ways, in simple terms as an in wall cable extender, from one location to another. It can also be used as a full multi source, multi room distribution system, allowing the quality of the HD picture to invade every room.

Most distribution systems will allow the use of a remote control in each room to control the centrally located HD equipment (e.g. HD Set-top-box, HD-DVD). When you laying in bed the last thing you want is to go down stairs to change the channel!

Not to worry if all of your equipment is not HD, because stand definition TV will travel along the same cat5 cable too.

The Conclusion

HD is stunning, HD throughout your home, even more so. Once you see it in the living room you will never want to watch that old portable in the bedroom again, so put it everywhere. To find out more about HD home distribution, and to arrange a quote, visit http://www.stylishautomation.com.

Culinary Training Isn't A Cakewalk

A career as a chef can be fulfilling and challenging, and if you have a passion for food culinary training may be a perfect fit. However, it isn't easy. Anyone who has attended a culinary institute can tell you that the education you receive goes far beyond simply learning how to throw together a few meals. In fact, you learn much more than just cooking.

Being a successful chef also involves being able to manage your kitchen properly, work well with your staff and understand nutrition, food purchasing and plenty of other things that go beyond the stove or oven. Culinary training can be an eye-opening experience for many students as they prepare for their career in the food and restaurant industry.

Training to be a chef may be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. There are few careers that so perfectly blend creativity and a love of food with a practical skill to yield a job that can propel you onto a successful career path in any number of areas. With the proper culinary training you can work at resorts, restaurants and clubs almost anywhere in the world. You may even find yourself working on a cruise ship.

Choose Culinary Training That's Comprehensive

If you want the best training possible, look at the curriculum offered at each school you are considering. If the focus is just cooking, you will be missing some important components that will make your culinary degree marketable when you graduate. The most comprehensive programs will have six distinct areas, each of which will break down further into specific units, some with basic, intermediate and advanced courses.

Food Service and Sanitation

This is the foundation of everything a chef or food service worker must know. If food is improperly handled, nothing else matters. Unsanitary conditions are absolutely unacceptable at any establishment no matter how talented you are.

Culinary Arts and Cooking

The core of most programs, these courses will have a variety of names, but will usually focus on a variety of cooking styles and procedures, usually focusing on savory dishes.

Food Science and Nutrition

Understanding the make-up and nutritional content, taste and value of ingredients and foods. In today's health-conscious society these courses are more important than ever, particularly if you would like to go on to work in a setting such as a spa or luxury resort. Understanding the way various flavors and textures interact and react is also a part of food science.

Purchasing

Learning cost analysis, how to evaluate and purchase individual ingredients, and knowing how much you will need along with where to shop. All of these are elements of purchasing that are central to being a successful chef. You can't cook well if you don't know where to get the right ingredients and how to work within a budget.

Mixology

This is sometimes called beverage service or viniculture, and is the art of understanding how wines, alcohols and liqueurs complement and interact with foods. No fine meal is complete without the proper accompaniment of wine or alcoholic beverage, and being knowledgeable enough to select the proper accompaniment is essential.

Pastries and Baking

Some culinary training programs will offer pastry and baking education as a part of the culinary arts, while others will offer a complete curriculum specializing in this as a separate discipline (some offer both options). Baking science is much different than cooking and has different rules and methods, so it requires separate attention to some degree. Because there are so many types of breads and pastries, many schools offer a complete course in this for those wishing to become specialized pastry chefs.

Some schools that offer culinary training will allow you to download their curriculum to review. This is a great way to see if they cover the basics, how much time they dedicate to each topic and what you will be covering in each class. Choosing a school without seeing the complete curriculum is like purchasing a car without a test drive, so be sure to know what you'll be learning and how many hours you'll be spending learning each technique or topic during your culinary training.

Have a pair of safety goggles, as well as work gloves to keep your hands and eyes safe. If you are using circular saws or any tools for cutting, make sure those tools are sharpened and ready to use. A dull tool is much more dangerous than a sharp one.

#3: Before you start putting the pieces together, make sure that you have all of the pieces that you need. Read through the directions and make sure that every piece is accounted for. If you are missing pieces, contact your retailer and they should send you the pieces that you are missing, or send a whole new product. You do not want to get halfway through your construction and realize that you are missing an important piece of your project. Next you can separate all of the pieces into different piles for easy access. Most of the time, the directions will label each piece of wood and different screws and nuts with letters or numbers. This will make assembly so much easier when everything is already separated and close at hand.

#4: The fourth tip is included for those of you that will need to be cutting wood pieces for your outdoor furniture. First of all make sure that you know how to make the cuts. It is always a good idea to practice the cuts on scrap pieces of wood before you make the final cuts for your project. It is also very important to measure your cuts to eliminate any wrong cuts that might ruin your beautiful new furniture. As my wise father once said, measure twice and cut once.

#5: The last tip is a fun one that will make your time assembly time much faster. It is a great idea to involve a friend or family member in your project. Your friend may have the tools that you dont have, or more experience in putting together wood pieces. Even if your friend is a novice like you, it is still good to have an extra pair of hands to help out. Plus it is much more fun (and safe) working with a friend than working by yourself.

Now go get started on putting together your stunning outdoor pieces and enjoy your new space. Then, invite all of your friends and family over for a block party to show off your hard work. Who knows, you might even get a few friends that want your help on their next project!

Project e-Play, Satisfying The Digital Thirst Of Social Networking Communities

As advancements in technology keep progressing at an incredible rate, our focus from the outside world seems to be getting narrower by the second. Have we as a society become distant from one another for the sake of "keeping up with technology?" From the looks of it, our world seems to be shrinking at an incredible rate too.

Or is it?

Due to our consistant technological graduations, society as a whole no longer depends on just one major screen for communication. We've graduated from the TV screen to the laptop, PC, ipod, and cell phone screens. Better yet, as we move forward into constant technological upgrades, we find ourselves standing on an integrated platform of multi-media screens.

This is evidence that we have completely graduated from an informational age into a communicational era. This graduation has created our current evolution, the phenomena of an increasing digital society. Today, each individual has multiple opportunities of making their personal world much bigger than they could have ever imagined. The average Westerner today has more friends than two years ago. The rise is attributed to the explosion in social networking sites and communication phenomena such as email, instant messaging and multi-media screens.

Social networking has clearly become a juggernaut in the online marketplace. It has become an arena for individuals or organizations to blend with one another with ideas, interests, values, financial exchanges, or just simply friendships.

People today, more than ever before, have a digital thirst to participate and communicate with one another through social networking communities. This movement is completely evident in the increasing population of social networks like YouTube and MySpace. Today, when you take a serious look at MySpace, it is clearly obvious that its massive population is large enough to form its own country. What is more interesting about this movement is that it is still heading towards exponential growth. For anyone willing to enhance their online game experience , primarily serious entrepreneurs and online game players, on the social networking growth will be greatly rewarded for doing so.

One major example of an unprecedented growth opportunity is the online game skill arena. The ability to challenge, play, and test personal online game skills with anyone in the world, will catch on fire amongst the social networking arenas. The digital code for this trend will be completely viral and will be boosted by a massive explosion of digital thirst amongst current and upcoming social networks. Virtual World Direct recognizes that the interactive nature of Social Networking sites keeps visitors coming back again and again. If you try to monetize this market of people wanting to have fun playing online games as well as having their own web space/blog and being able to talk to each other live, the potential is staggering. Well, that is exactly what you will have.

For savvy entrepreneurs and online game players, this will be one of today's modern gold rush.

As a matter of fact, a European Internet Analyst, Alex Burmaster, Nielsen/NetRatings (a global leader in Internet media and market research) said, "Take the fact that the online games sector is growing at four times the rate of overall Internet growth together with the increasing numbers online and it is easy to see why companies such as MTV Networks are looking to get a piece of the action."

Now let's stop right there. Imagine for a second, a current online sector that is rapidly growing four times faster that the internet! To give you an idea of what that means and to really put it into context, recent figures from analyst firm DFC Intelligence said that the worldwide online games market is forecasted to grow from $3.4 billion USD in 2005 to over $13 billion USD in 2011.

Currently, the online skill game market has a worth of approximately $5.2 billion USD. That easily equates to a worth of $164 USD per second, and in the next 156 weeks is expected to grow to $412 USD per second of every minute of every day, and growing.

These numbers cannot be ignored.

As an entrepreneur, and/or online game player, the timing couldn't have been any better to position yourself in front of a market that is expected to grow to a worth of $412 every second.

The beauty about this rare movement is the timing and the massive crave that can be created purely from the digital thirst of challenging friends and contacts to games, all in the mix of social networking.

Now imagine being able to be part of this powerful medium, and even better, use it to fuel your new online skill games and entertainment experience. To illustrate the appeal of this industry, Internet Caf's derive 30-40% of their revenue from people playing games online. The focus on online skill games is growing immensely throughout the world, the virtual world.

Well, imagine no more. eVolution has stepped up to the plate and is bringing the online game sector to serious entrepreneurs and online game players who want to play games, get paid, and have fun in the process. The digital code has been cracked to the online game sector, social networking communities, and social marketing/network marketing 2.0 industries.

The Project that consists of fun, entertainment, social networking, and online game challenging will be the e-play code of a colossal digital society.

Hope Chests Outdated?

The chaise lounge used to be found in many Victorian homes and was one of the most popular pieces of furniture in its heyday. While there are still some companies that make chaise lounges, the truth is that this is not a common piece in many homes today. However, the chaise lounge was not strictly relegated to the antique world because it did evolve into the lounger found in most outdoor furniture sets. The hope chest is another furnishing that was once very popular in past generations but has it become outdated in this world of plastic totes and other, less expensive, alternatives?

The traditional purpose of classic hope chests was to serve as a storage bin for valuables a young woman might need when she first got married. Typical items found in antique hope chests might include: bedding, dish sets, linens, and other such items that are typically necessary to start a new home away from the safety and sanctuary of the nest. Today, however, quality-made hope chests are not as popular as they once were but they too, have evolved much like the chaise lounge.

In the modern home, the hope chest is still made of quality materials such as cherry, cedar, and even pine. Unlike in previous generations, however, premium hope chests are now used more as a decorative storage bin rather than some rite of passage furnishing. It is quite common to see a hope chest at the end of a bed where it safely stores away bedding supplies and other linens that do not see extensive use.

Modern hope chests also tend to be far more decorative than their predecessors and weigh much less. As for the decorative elements, contemporary chests are commonly used to accentuate the dcor of a space so it is more important for the exterior to be aesthetically complimentary to the other furnishings in the interior design scheme. The weight of modern hope chests has also decreased because of improved manufacturing techniques which cut down on the amount of wood needed to make a chest.

One final adaptation in the evolving saga of premium hope chests is the fact that they are now becoming quite popular with men. Part of this is due to the fact that more and more parents are buying chests for their children to be used throughout their lives. In the beginning years, the hope chest might be a toy box. As the child ages, the uses for the chest evolve with the changing needs of the child. Finally, instead of being used as a container where a woman might save up the supplies she will need to start her own home, both men and women are now taking their precious hope chests along with them when they finally leave for college. So, is the hope chest outdated? Not by a long shot.

Antispyware Software Can Kill That Spy !

Antispyware programs and adware removal tools can detect and remove spyware ranging from browser parasites, data miners, to malware, adware, software you didn't ask for, homepage hijackers, Trojan horses to dialers, and also provide prevention measures.

The one way to get a severe headache is to have your computer infested with spyware and adware. But if you understand what spyware means and take the necessary steps to detect, remove and prevent it you can be free from this headache before it turns chronic.

Spyware can imply many things - it could be browser parasites, data miners, malware, adware, software you didn't ask for, homepage hijackers, Trojan horses, dialers etc. These thieves usually hit Microsoft Windows applications and Internet Explorer, since most people use them, leading to a system crash or some really strange behavior.

But how did spyware get into your system in the first place? If you visited a website or looked at an html email message or if you clicked a pop up window, you are 'it'. Your action would have automatically triggered off the download and installation of the spyware into your computer without your knowledge. Something you clicked would have been conveyed as 'I do' to the spyware vendor. After all, it cheats. This way of misleading you into getting that tracking software called spyware installed in your computer is referred to as a drive-by download. It is one of the commonest ways of tricking pc users to accept spyware if they do not have real-time antispyware protection installed.

Arresting The Damage With Antispyware

That spyware which sneaked into your computer can alter your browser and security settings. Some adware vendors just collect your browsing information so that they can bombard you with their product ads. Adware spyware usually tracks your Internet browsing actions in the machine where they install themselves. They then have a way of conveying the information they collect back to the people who installed the adware so they can use it for commercial gain. They use it themselves, or sell it to others. These people in turn assume what your interests are through the information they collect and display a barrage of ads through the computer where they install their adware.

Spyware vendors pay software vendors to bundle in their spyware software so that they can get into users system. Some spyware vendors get into your system through the low security settings in your Internet browser. For each spyware installation they mark it with a tracking number so that they can trace your information, helping them to update their database on an ongoing basis.

Antispyware has become an essential part of a computer just like antivirus software. The adware that installs itself in our systems without our approval usually come up as popup windows or sleazy banner advertisements integrated into some totally irrelevant program. Antispyware programs and adware removal tools can detect, remove and also provide prevention measures.

Locating Bible Studies for Children

Do you know anything about the Bible? I used to go to church on Sundays. I was baptized a Christian when I was a child and my parents used to bring me to church every Sunday. However, when I was in high school I began to lose interest in religious matters. There were a lot more interesting things to do than going to church. The Bible studies for children that I used to enjoy were not as fun as when I was seven.

I was reunited with the Bible when I was in college. I was enrolled in a course called Bible as Literature. The course enkindled my interest on the book and my views about it changed. I realized that the Bible is a lot more than just a story book that has the interesting stories that I enjoyed when I attended bible studies for children. From that point on, the Bible has played an important role on my familys life. I was also pleased when I found out that you can learn about the Bible through the World-Wide-Web.

I am a very busy mother and I cant spend as much time as I want with my children. It was a blessing to know that there were Bible studies for children on the Internet. My children can learn about the bible and the values it espouses at the comfort and safety of my home. Although it would have been ideal to send them to a regular Bible studies for children, my schedule just makes it impossible to do so.

I have a lot of pleasant experiences with church Bible studies when I was young. I would really want my children to experience the same things. The regular Bible studies in Sunday school teach them values and allow them to socialize with other children. But since my hectic schedule prevents me from sending them to Sunday school, Bible studies online is a convenient alternative.

If you are also interested in enhancing your childrens knowledge about the Bible and God, you can find Bible studies for children on the Internet. Try to read with them and let them listen to bible stories and watch short Biblical films. A busy schedule is not an excuse to deprive your children of valuable Bible knowledge. Hop online today and browse through the numerous and nourishing Bible studies for children.

Pashmina Fashion and More

Over time, the name "pashmina" has become a catch-all name for almost any shawl, wrap, stole or scarf. It is this generic use of the term that creates confusion among would-be buyers and wearers.

Pashmina is actually the type material itself, which is a type of wool harvested from a specific breed of goat found naturally in the high altitudes of the Himalayan Mountains. Because they live approximately 14,000 feet above sea level, these special goats grow a thin, inner coat of hair that insulates them during the long, harsh Himalayan winters. It is this unique inner coat of hair that is used to produce pashmina. Each hair is about 1/6th the diameter of most other types of hair - but is still surprisingly durable while being stunningly soft and comforting to human skin. For thousands of years, the fleece from the goat has been utilized in the production of high quality fashion accessories such as shawls, wraps, and scarves.

These shawls have been manufactured in Kashmir and Nepal for thousands of years. In Nepal, they were called "pashmina" and in Kashmir, they were typically called "Kashmiri wool shawls". Both are basically the same, just using different names. But during the popular shawl trend in the 1990s, "pashmina" became the most recognized term.

What is known as a pashmina may be an accessory composed of pure pashmina or a pashmina/silk blend. The blend ratio can vary, but the most common is 70% pashmina wool and 30% silk. A pashmina shawl will typically be about 36"x80", a wrap/stole is about 28"x80", and a scarf/muffler will be around 12"x80".

A pashmina is a very versatile accessory, whether it be a shawl, wrap, or scarf. The most popular website showing example of how to wear one is from the television show "Oprah". The link to this is http://www.oprah.com/tows/pastshows/tows_2000/tows_past_20000306_c.jhtml and is worth a visit. The Pashmina Store at http://www.thepashminastore.com offers a variety of pashmina accessories.

Pashmina care is actually fairly easy and with proper care a pashmina can last a long, long time. While dry-cleaning is suggested, you may wash in cold water and a gentle shampoo, such as baby shampoo. Be careful if there are any tassels since they may unwind. Then lay the item flat to dry, do not wring dry. A warm iron is okay, but it is best to put a piece of paper or fabric between the iron and the pashmina. Store your pashmina in a bag away from moisture and light, as well as damaging insects.

Once you have worn one, you will most likely become a pashmina addict. They are truly a wonderful way to dress up even a casual outfit or to accentuate more formal attire. They look great and feel even better.

Blair Rhodes has been involved in the pashmina business since 2000 with The Pashmina Store, http://www.thepashminastore.com, one of the leading online pashmina retailers in North America. After earning an MBA at the University of Texas at Austin, Blair travelled with his family to Nepal and Kashmir, where they discovered the joys of the culture and the traditions of quality pashmina production. This lead to the eventual formation of the pashmina business and the sharing of this wonderful luxury item with North American fashion lovers.Gretel Blog63243

10 Tips for Buying Rap Beats Online

Buying rap beats online is quickly growing and its great to use the internet to bring talented producers and artists from different parts of the world together. However, like with any game, there are some players who do things right, and others who dont. Weve therefore compiled this simple list of tips for buying rap beats online in order to help aspiring artists out there pick the right website/producers to work with.

We now have four years experience selling rap beats online through our website, www.LaCantinaProductions.com and we hope that these tips will prove useful to you!

1. Music Licenses Understand them

Know the difference between exclusive and non-exclusive licenses. An exclusive license will grant you the exclusive (hence the name) right to use the beats for your projects.

A non-exclusive license will give you the right to use the beat for your musical projects, however the producer retains the right to sell the beat to other artists too.

2. Music Licenses Know which one to buy

Exclusive licenses can be expensive, but essential if youre looking to commercially release an album. If youre however recording a demo or mixtape, a non-exclusive license is fine, however make sure you check with the producer what rights you get as these will vary from site to site.

3. Prices, dont pay too much!

Owners of beat sites often get carried away by their big egos and will charge inflated prices for standard beats.

A rough guideline for prices follows:

Non-Exclusive Licenses - $15 - $50

Exclusive Licenses - $100 - $1000

Of course, the above prices depend on the producers popularity and talent. However, we would not recommend paying more than $1000 for an exclusive license bought online from someone you have never met in person.

4. Websites, only buy from trusted ones

Any proper online business will make sure they have a trustworthy image. Therefore make sure that the site youre buying from has at least one or two of these:

- Full contact details, phone number, email, mailing address

- Privacy Policy

5. Look for trust symbols

On top of the above, the website should also have third party trust symbols. These are certifications from other companies that prove the website is trustworthy and not fraudulent.

Some symbols to look for are:

- BBB Certification

- Paypal Verified

- Shopping reviews

- Hacker Safety Certifications

- Antivirus Safety Certifications

Also make sure these symbols link through to another page that explains what they mean and how the website in question fits the criteria.

6. Email the site and check if they reply

Crazy, but certain beat sites will not bother doing this. Would you want to do business with someone who doesnt care about talking to you?

Also, this will prove that the website is a serious online business with a team of human beings running it properly.

7. Look for testimonials

This is not essential, but its always good if you can see that others have dealt with the site before and have been satisifed with their beats.

8. Avoid producers who only use a Soundclick/MySpace page to sell beats

A domain name costs less than $15 a year, surely its not a good sign if someone doesnt even have the money to buy that and set up their own independent website?

9. Search for the site on Google

This is a quick easy way to check a sites reputation. Do any bad comments show up, or anything else unusual?

10. Is the site alive?

Does anyone update it or is it dead? Were all very busy making beats, but adding some small updates once in a while is within everyones reach. Therefore look for blog posts, new beat uploads and even small updates such as changing the current year noted on the site!
